On July 10, 2025, the grand opening of UTK International Logistics Co. Ltd., a joint venture between Uzbek Railway Container JSC and Xinjiang Union of Railway International Logistics Co. Ltd., took place in Beijing.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, I.R. Makhkamov, and the Deputy Mayor of the Urumqi People's Government, Hou Yong. Also in attendance were Z.G. Narzullaev, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Railways JSC, M.K. Mirkhamidov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbek Railway Container JSC, and other high-ranking representatives of both parties.
The speeches emphasized the strategic importance of the new venture for deepening transport and logistics cooperation between China and Uzbekistan. The parties expressed confidence that the company will become an important tool in expanding mutual transportation.
UTK International Logistics Co. Ltd. office. Ltd. will be located in Urumqi. The company's main activities will be cargo consolidation, attracting subsidies from China, and developing multimodal transportation between China and Central Asia.
After completing all necessary legal procedures, the company will promptly begin sending its first container trains on the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan route.
The establishment of UTK International Logistics Co. Ltd. is an important step toward integrating the two countries' transport systems and strengthening Uzbekistan's position as a key logistics hub in the region.
