A new alternative transport corridor between China and Europe, running through Uzbekistan, has been opened.

JSC UztemirYulKonteyner is conducting a number of systematic projects to develop container transportation in the country, as well as diversify transport corridors and increase transit cargo volumes.

In particular, in May of this year, a six-party meeting was held in Tehran with the participation of the railway executives of China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, and Turkey. During the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize container transportation from China to Europe along new routes: "China - Kazakhstan - Turkmenistan - Iran - Turkey" and "China - Kazakhstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Iran - Turkey."

As part of this agreement, another six-party meeting was held in Beijing on July 22-23 at the invitation of CRCT to evaluate the effectiveness of the routes, launch a pilot container train, and discuss tariff preferences.

The expert-led talks concluded with an agreement between the parties to take joint measures to implement competitive tariffs, increase freight volumes, develop multimodal transport systems, and expand future cooperation.
