In an effort to expand its international freight transportation reach, UztemirYulKonteyner JSC successfully completed its first test container shipment from the Port of Klang (Malaysia) to the Dushanbe-2 railway station (Republic of Tajikistan) via Uzbekistan.
A 40-foot container of palm oil was delivered along the Malaysia-China-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan multimodal transport corridor, covering a total of 10,500 kilometers. Initially, the cargo was transported by sea from the Port of Klang (Malaysia) to the Port of Qingdao (China), after which it traveled by rail through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to the Dushanbe-2 railway station in Tajikistan.
The total transit time was 32 days, 15 of which were by sea and 17 by rail.
This pilot shipment marked an important step in the development of a new transport corridor connecting the countries of Southeast Asia with those of Central Asia. It will also contribute to further strengthening the region's transit potential and increasing the efficiency of international logistics chains.
