As part of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Germany in September 2023, Uzbekistan Temir Yollari JSC and the German company Rhenus SE&Co. KG reached an agreement on the construction of a modern multimodal logistics center in the Andijan region.
According to this agreement, a joint venture “UzContargo Andijan” is being created on the basis of the Andijan logistics center between the companies “Uztemiryulkonteyner” JSC and “Rhenus SE&Co. KG”.
A modern logistics center will create opportunities for multimodal transportation, container loading and unloading zones, open and closed customs warehouses, as well as heavy cargo handling.
By investing 20 million euros in the project in 2024-2026, in the future the logistics center will be able to process 250-300 thousand tons of cargo per year.
The official opening ceremony of the joint venture “UzContargo Andijan” is scheduled for the end of March.
