On November 21 of this year, a meeting was held with Willem Swannenburg, an international expert on rolling stock of the Asian Development Bank, and Jannat Salimovalar, an expert on financial issues, regarding the current reforms in railway transport.
At the meeting, Willem Swannenburg stated that research is being conducted on the need for rolling stock and financing opportunities for the countries of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CEEC) and addressed the questions he was interested in. In particular, opinions were exchanged regarding the current demand for fitting platforms, the volume of container transportation in Uzbekistan, international transport corridors, and future plans.
In addition, expert on financial issues, Jannat Salimova informed that during the research, the current condition of rolling stock will be studied in 11 MOMIH countries, and in particular in Uzbekistan, as well as financing opportunities and contract conditions for the purchase of rolling stock and their technical service will be evaluated.
